SKL is an Agro based farming company which was incorporated on 1994 as a private limited company, the company is led by the founder and director Syed Ahmed.  SKL is one of the largest independantly owned fams in th whole of Bangladesh. SKL focusses on Aquaculture but over the years has diverseified into other agricultural sectors such as beef fattening, dairy, livestocks and crops. SKL is a forward thinking farming company which is looking to continually expand and diversify its portfolio, currently SKL is looking at expanding into the secondary sector with a range of products for the consumer market.

Having dwelled in the UK since 1977,  during this time I started my own businesses in the restaurant industry, through hard work and dedication I established a highly regarded restaurant business . Since then I had envisioned my next venture would be in my native country of Bangladesh, aiming to create employment opportunities and develop an agriculture business in Bangladesh that would add value to the economy. I decided to establish a fishery in 1994 to meet the demands of the local market for fresh fish, I realised that there would be shortage of fresh water fish within the domestic markets. In 2005, SKL started selling fish stocks to wholesalers of local markets and we started a 'business to business' relationship with local fishermen. On top of that, now we also have dairy, livestock, fresh fruits, vegetable and many more goods.

After running SKL for a long time, I do believe that the Bagladesh climate and environment are suitable for Agro based investments. So, I call upon all kinds of foreign investors to realise the potential that Bangladesh has within global production,  also it would make a great socio-economic difference to many people in Bangladesh.
